Reproductive Rights

The Republicans in the Pennsylvania House of Representative have introduced the following pieces of legislation restricting abortion access.

House Bill 1500, known as the Down Syndrome Protection Act, would make it illegal for a person to get an abortion if the fetus has a Down Syndrome diagnosis.

House Bill 118, known as The Unborn Child Dignity Act, would require providers to offer the option for burial or cremation after a loss of a pregnancy.

House Bill 904, known as the Heartbeat Bill, would ban abortions if a doctor detects a heartbeat, unless the procedure is deemed medically necessary.

House Bill 1095, known as Sentencing for Homicide of an Unborn Child, would impose mandatory life imprisonment, linking an abortion to homicide.

If you believe politicians have no business interfering in the most personal and private medical decisions pertaining to reproductive rights, we encourage you to help us elect Democrats who will have been vocal in their opposition to restricting these rights.  You can start by helping LV4All Get Out the Vote (GOTV) for Democratic candidates up for election for state judges, county offices, municipal offices, and school boards.   Go to the LV4All Events page for more information on how you can help GOTV.
